A large and growing portion of some of the most valuable demographics are spending more of their time and attention on Facebook and less on other channels and media. Not only are US college students and teenagers fully engaged in Facebook, but adults, professionals, and people from around the world now constitute a substantial portion of the Facebook userbase as well. However, most marketers lack a comprehensive understanding of the vast array of explicit and implicit marketing channels Facebook offers – most of which are viral. My goal here is to provide an introduction to what’s possible on Facebook to the spectrum of marketers from brand advertisers to volunteer grassroots evangelists. The Facebook Marketing Bible contains three detailed sections: Tools for Guerilla Marketers, Tools for Advertisers, and Tools for Application Developers. Each part outlines the best available channels and strategies for reaching your audience inside Facebook. Find more: www.insidefacebook.com more info

As someone interested in marketing our products on Facebook, The Facebook Marketing Bible was a great help to me. Justin Smith does a very good job of addressing information across the range of readers from those new to FB to experienced application developers. He draws on the research done by his firm, Inside Facebook, to give real, proven suggestions to maximize the effect of the marketing time and dollars spent on social media. I appreciate that he makes it clear when the future is uncertain and the best course is still up in the air. The book could seriously benefit from the addition of a glossary as it has many acronyms in the part of the book aimed at developers. An ebook edition updated monthly is available at Inside Facebook’s website [...]

It was fascinating to me after reading the book to take a look at our competitor’s FB pages and groups. Very few followed Mr. Smith’s advice, but *all* of the successful ones did. All in all, it’s not just a great resource, it’s the only worthwhile resource I could find!

decent marketing info if your new to face book discusses creating groups to build popularity which is a good idea and also a great way to build a list of people to email special offers
