good social media background info
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I feel this book is a lot like a text to a class. I gives you accurate information about the current trend of Social Media but the problem is that in the year since it was published, some of the information is no longer valid. Such is the case with anything to do with technology. There is enough basic information to get the new comer to social media involved and up and running with the platform. It does read slowly though, so be prepared for it to take a lot longer than an hour a day.

Finally THE answer to WHY I should use LinkedIn!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Of course I knew about LinkedIn, but somehow I never seemed to really get on with it. Jan Vermeirens book has given me a clear insight and plenty of useful tips as to WHY I should use LinkedIn even more as a powerful tool. The STRATEGIC use of it (esp. the Gain exercise) has been most helpful.

Exciting Read, and Not Just for Would-Be Entrepreneurs
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I'm usually the last person to pick up a business book, but Viral Loop really got me hooked. Adam Penenberg tells the story of businesses that achieved stunning success by using the new forces of social networking. But it turns out that these forces are not so new after all: Viral Loop is also the story of how the Tupperware company used the old-fashioned kind of social networking--word-of-mouth and parties-- to expand into a cookware giant. If you like Malcolm Gladwell, you'll love Viral Loop, though I think Penenberg does a better job of tying everything together and revealing the big picture. It's also just a good story, as you watch these innovators and entrepreneurs struggle with failure--and success--and rivalries and see how they often didn't realize at first what was so great about their great idea. The book is also about the ways in which technology is changing our lives--for better or for worse--and how creativity meets technology, with world-changing results.

THE Handbook for new-to-Twitter employees...
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I've been using this publication since it was released. As a training tool for my employees, it accomplishes all of my needs. I suggest it without hesitation to others in the marketing field and often carry it with me to conferences & events. I have a number of other books espousing the hows & whys of Twitter, but Mr. Murnahan's book hits the nail spot on. Additionally, his clever delivery and ability to relate his own learning experience make reading it a pleasure...not just another Twitter chore~!

All A Twitter by Tee Morris
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I am a recently unemployed individual looking to develope a career as an independant designer of knitwear and knitting patterns. As such, I wanted to take advantage of the latest social networking technology available. I looked at a few books on Twitter. I had heard of it, knew of a few people who were already on it, but really had no idea what it was, how it could be used, or how to go about using it. I chose "All A Twitter" because it gives you not only the technical information about Twitter but more importantly the nuances of what Twitter can be and how you can make the most of your tweets.

Tee Morris's book was a HUGE help! It is written in an easy to use, conversational style. It is arranged in such a way that you can read the beginning, open your Twitter account, and then continue reading as you begin tweeting and gaining experience. This is really like having a friend (a really cool, tech-savy friend) come over for coffee and teach you how to tweet.

Getting started on Twitter and sending tweets is simple. Creating a profile and sending and using tweets in a way that will get you noticed (in a possitive way) and becoming part of a vibrant community is not so simple (unless you have read this book).

Tee explains some of the many, many options available for Twitter related applications in a fair and balanced way so that you can make your own decissions about what to try. He also has tips and tricks scattered throughout. And, most importantly, things to avoid doing so that you do not become part of the 'noise' that will lead to being unfollowed or worse yet, blocked.

Like most things in life Twitter is what you make of it. Tee has helped make Twitter and the tweeple I follow a remarkable part of my life both personally and professionally.

You can find me @fearlessknitter and the author is @TeeMonster. I'm sure he would be happy to hear from you (preferably after you have read his book). Use #allatwitter as the hash tag (you'll understand that too after you read the book).

21st Century Media strategy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Many of the previous 5 star reviews have highlighted my sentiments and opinions of this book.

But my comments:

David Silver loves the world and passion of entrepreneurs.
His excitement and expertise for SNS is evident throughout the book.

The spreadsheets and financial assumptions in the book alone are critical for
the mobile and broadband Net world, and worth purchasing the book alone.

Products, services, conferences, and subscriptions for SNS are covered in great detail.
I have highlighted and dog-ear'd many pages.

But the passion for niche / vertical entrepreneurial focus is the highlight and successful theme of this book.

Finding 10,000 fans for something is an accomplishment and a community.
Finding 1,000 subscribers or product customers in that community is a business.

David Silver has outlined many of the tablestakes that SNS builders need to concentrate on.
